Most companies run blogs, but they neglect to make sure that the content helps their business. They neglect to use branded content, or content specifically geared to their company interests. The content needs to emphasize the business and its place within the industry while at the same time showing how important the individuals that make the company are.
This means that the company needs to walk a fine between straight business and friendly. On the business side, it needs to show what the company is doing to advance the industry and solve any problems that come up while at the same time showing company events; the newest products need to shown alongside corporate retreats. If the company can walk that line and properly balance business needs with personal needs then it should be able to use the blog to maximum effect and see an increase in its fortune.
