Insulated Roof Panels Add To Temperature Control Of Roofed Areas

Every building requires a roof to protect the living or working space from exposure to the elements and also to provide some protection for the roofed area. Roofs are exposed to the sun and outside environment, and this leaves them vulnerable to the temperatures outside. This effect of the weather can be reduced with the use of insulated roof panels.

Most of these roof panels are made from a combination of high-quality steel sheets which have a layer of insulating material, like polyurethane foam between them. The thickness of this sandwich material will depend on the required degree of insulation. This layer also acts as a vapor barrier and provides sound insulation besides acting to lower temperatures within the roofed space.

Roof panels with insulation will have greater structural strength and rigidity, and this allows the purlins supporting them to be at a greater spacing, thus reducing the cost of the framework needed for their installation. The lightness of the insulation material does not in any way increase the weight of the roofing.
