Insights From ELearning Case Studies
We are still in the earliest development stages of e-learning. There is much to improve and a lot that we can discover from elearning case studies. For example, the enrollment rates may be high but the completion rates are fairly low.
Analysis of the data shows patterns as to what enables increases in completion and engagement. Platforms have reduced lecture lengths to cope with the short attention span of the students. They have also diversified their courses and provided timely subjects to capture interest.
Paying students tend to value the courses more and finish them until the end. Those who take the courses for free tend to be more casual with only a few achieving completion. Continuous surveys are being conducted to understand the causes and offer solutions.
eLearning has been forced to accelerate its maturity because of the ongoing pandemic and the need for social distancing.
