About Healthcare In Vietnam

Healthcare in Vietnam is progressing at a rapid pace. Over the last two decades, the country has made great strides toward ensuring that all citizens can access quality healthcare. Vietnam is striving toward a completely universal healthcare system by introducing various programs to allow private healthcare providers to enter the market. At present, over 70% of the population has health coverage provided through state-run health institutions. The Vietnam Health Ministry manages these medical institutions.

The Vietnamese government is pursuing the goal of ensuring that every Vietnamese possesses access to high-quality healthcare so that no citizen falls outside the reach of medical assistance. A massive overhaul of the country’s health care system is underway, and the progress so far is impressive. Over the past two years, Vietnam has made great strides toward integrating the system in a more streamlined manner. This year, they aim to introduce the first private hospital within the boundaries of a state-funded system.
