An Option For Building Your Home
Country Kit Homes, also called panelized home kits or manufactured homes, are essentially owner built homes. While there are numerous companies nationwide that sell these kits, most of them typically offer similar products and services.
The kit consists of pre-framed panelized walls that already have siding and windows installed so that all the owner/builder has to do is nail the wall sections together. These kits include a panel plan that shows the locations where the prenumbered wall sections should be erected to make the job quicker and easier for the builder. Once the wall sections are in place, the next step is to place the roof trusses and nail them securely into place. Once that is completed, the roof sheathing, doors and trim are installed. Now the owner has a lockable, finished shell of his or her new home.
Though more affordable and less labor-intensive than stick built homes, kit homes also offer buyers options to customize their home. In addition, many purveyors of kit homes will offer assistance with city/county requirements, as well as recommend subcontractors and tradespeople.
