Choosing A Weighted Blanket
It’s important when choosing a weighted blanket that it works for you. Not all weighted blankets are the same, and one of the most important things is to buy a blanket that’s the appropriate weight. In general, for adults that means it should be about 10 percent of your body weight, and for children, the blanket should weigh 10 percent plus a couple of extra pounds. The blanket’s material is also important; cotton is ideal if you like natural fibers, while minky or polyester blankets retain more heat and suit those who like a more tactile experience. A bamboo blanket tends to make you feel cooler, and is ideal if you routinely feel too warm in bed. Regardless, always choose a blanket in which the weight is evenly distributed, and a blanket that is well made and durable, with no potentially leaking beads is recommended.
