Using The Rapid Test Kit For COVID-19

On the 10th of February, it was announced that a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test was approved by Health Canada. This rapid test kit can identify the SARS-COVID-2 within 15 minutes. The test is reliable with a 99.04 to 99.9% accuracy rate, it will prove instrumental in helping to prevent viral spread.

It is the first rapid test to be approved by the World Health Organization (WHO). It has also been approved and used in Korea and Australia. It must still be administered by health professionals, requiring a nasal swab and at least 15 to 30 minutes to complete.

The testing serum must be stored somewhere between 36 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit and can be kept up to 24 months. All the required reagents are included and there is no need for special equipment. This is an antigen test which is designed to pathogen specific proteins. When it does, you have tested positive for COVID-19.
